Karen Callaway Williams


Karen Callaway Williams, can be seen in the current documentary Been Rich All My Life, the story of the Silver Belles. She is known for being the first female rhythm tap dancer in Riverdance - The Show and then the only female tap dancer and dance captain in Riverdance on Broadway. Other Broadway credits include the Tony nominated Duke Ellington Musical Play On.  She is a featured performer with a number of symphony orchestras including Indianapolis, Baltimore, Cincinnati Pops, Toronto, Detroit and New Jersey. A charter member and first dance captain on the New Jersey Tap Ensemble, Karen tours on Canadian soil with Tap Giants and Tap Tel Aviv. She was featured in a Black History edition of Essence Magazine and on Sesame Street. Dance Magazine heralded her as "a graceful dream with taps as happy as a song".
